Coordination Meeting of ABACC and IAEA Authorities (virtual)
On September 30, the Secretaries of ABACC, Marco Marzo and Elena Maceiras met with the Deputy Director General – Head of the IAEA Department of Safeguards, Massimo Aparo, the Director of Operations Division B, Van Zyl De Villiers, accompanied by other members of both agencies.
The general state of cooperation between both agencies was reviewed, as well as their main conclusions and the identification of mechanisms for increasing cooperation. The successful performance the ABACC and IAEA inspection activities in the context of he Covid-19 pandemic was particularly highlighted, which was possible with the support and cooperation of the authorities of Argentina and Brazil.
