ABACC participated in the Carnegie International Nuclear Policy Conference 2025, in Washington, DC, April 21 and 22.
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is a non-governmental organization that promotes independent analysis for peace and to confront complex global challenges in the area of international security.
This institution held an International Conference on Nuclear Policy and ABACC was invited to participate in a panel that discussed the intersection between nuclear energy and global security in the face of potential challenges to non-proliferation, safeguards and nuclear security, in order to address questions associated with climate change and artificial intelligence.
In discussion with the moderator and other specialists, the Argentine Planning and Evaluation Officer, Sonia Fernández Moreno, highlighted the role of the regional systems of accounting and control of nuclear materials, such as ABACC, in contributing to international safeguards in response to a potential exponential growth of nuclear energy in peaceful uses.
